When to Order Baseball Uniforms for Spring 2027: Timeline

Order spring baseball uniforms 6 to 8 weeks before your first game. Here is the week-by-week timeline that works back from opening day.

When to Order Spring Baseball Uniforms for 2027

Order baseball uniforms for spring 2027 6 to 8 weeks before your first game. For a team opening in early March, that means placing the order in December or the first half of January, with the design approved before the holidays.

The window is longer than most first-time coaches expect because production is only one part of it. Collecting sizes, approving a mockup and shipping all take time, and spring is the busiest season for every uniform maker.

How far ahead should you order baseball uniforms?

Six to eight weeks before the first game is the safe window for custom baseball uniforms.

Here is where that time goes:

Revisions and approval2–7 daysYou

Most delays happen in the rows you control. A coach who sends a complete roster on day one can cut two weeks off the plan.

When is opening day, and how do you work back from it?

Take your first game date and count back eight weeks. That date is when the design work should start.

For a typical 2027 calendar:

First gameStart designApprove mockupPlace order
Late FebruaryEarly DecemberMid-DecemberBefore the holidays
Mid-MarchMid-JanuaryLate JanuaryEarly February
Early AprilEarly FebruaryMid-FebruaryLate February

If your league holds a jamboree or picture day before opening day, use that earlier date instead.

Why does spring baseball take longer than other seasons?

Spring is when baseball, softball, lacrosse and girls' flag football all order at once. Every factory's queue is longest from late January to March.

Ordering in November or December avoids that queue entirely. It also gives you time for a second mockup round if the first design is not right, without any pressure on the dates.

What slows a uniform order down?

Three things cause almost every late spring order we see:

  1. Sizes arrive in pieces. Ten parents reply, four do not. Set a firm deadline and use one form for everyone. Our guide to youth baseball uniform sizing has a measuring method parents can follow in five minutes.
  2. Logo files are low quality. A blurry screenshot needs redrawing. Send the best file you have, ideally a vector or high-resolution PNG, and we will tell you if anything needs redrawing.
  3. Approval waits on a committee. Agree who signs off before the mockup arrives.

What should you decide before you order?

Settle these before you ask for a mockup and the whole order moves faster:

  • Team colors (two or three, plus white or gray)
  • Jersey style: button-front or pullover
  • Pants style: full-length, open-bottom or knicker
  • Home and away sets, or one set plus an alternate
  • Names on the back, numbers front and back
  • Sponsor logos and where they go
  • Fabric weight for your climate (see our fabric weight guide)

How do you order from Stitchfields?

  1. Request a free mockup. Send your logo, colors and ideas through the quote form. You get a front and back design, usually within 24 hours.
  2. Approve the design. Revisions are free. Nothing is produced until you approve.
  3. Send the roster. Sizes, names and numbers in one list. Youth YXS to YXL and adult sizes up to 4XL can be mixed in one order.
  4. Production and delivery. 10–12 working days after approval, then duty-paid delivery with tracking.

See all styles on our custom baseball uniforms page.

What if you are already late?

If opening day is less than six weeks away, order immediately and send the complete roster with the request. A team that approves the mockup on the first round and has sizes ready can still make it. For players who join later, single-player reorders use the design on file with no minimum.
