Weight is not the same as quality. A good 160 gsm fabric can outlast a poor 220 gsm one. What weight changes is how the jersey feels, breathes and drapes.
What does gsm mean for a jersey?
Gsm tells you how much one square meter of the fabric weighs. A 220 gsm fabric uses more yarn than a 160 gsm fabric of the same size, so it feels thicker, holds more warmth and resists snags better.
